Thursday - workday

Saw a great show Friday night, Porcupine Tree, with P6 (Adrian belew and Robert Fripp) opening. P6 were good, guitar and electronic drums, all improvised. RF seemed to having a grand time; wild solos, bouncing up and down on his chair, big grins. PT were amazing; very tight, and a great light show. The first half of thier show was all new stuff. Harder edged and more complex arrangements. Then after 5 minutes break older stuff, mostly from the last 2 albums. Their drummer, Gavin Harrison is a monster. And, the venue, the Nokia Theatre was great; great sound, and lots of seats, stadium seating, in fact! Looking forward to seeing Umphrey's Magee there in December.

A mostly good weekend. Saturday evening met with Mark for our bi-weekly duo meeting. Our new music is in a good place for personal practice to move it further. YGP duet arrangements are solidified. Then out to the GSI for drinks.

Sunday I stayed home while to family went to church; caught up on sleep, tidied up and played some bass. Good to have some private time. When the family returned, Miles and i went for a walk on the bike path, on the bridge over the resevoir. A really georgous day. Then a family dinner of burgers on the grill. Out to a good meeting. Then, a troubling discovery with K. But, I decide to not react.

Difficult week so far at work. Tuesday I supervised a shoot for Verizon. Uncooperative director, who has a hissy fit when I point out something that will make our post work exponentially more difficult. Also tried not to react to his behavior, but it was difficult. I did have the agency on my side, though, but a tense situation. Next week will be rediculously busy, with about 20 deliverables by Wednesday.
